If I'm being completely honest; I don't feel like I've learnt anything this year. This is due to the fact we've gone through three teachers since Vince passed away - two of which didn't turn up a lot of the time, and the other one got reported multiple times for being a creep. I'm actually really disappointed and quite angry about this year, and if I didn't get on so well with everyone on the course I probably would've left already. Despite this, I do feel like I have gained some more experience in certain areas of the course. 

 

There were only a couple of people within the class that I knew at the start of the year, but now I have developed friendships with quite a few of them. Three of them were George, Jack and Victor. Before George left, I liked working with him as we make a similar style of music and we think about it in a similar way. Jack has only just started producing so I like the fact I can help him if he ever needs. Victor, on the other hand, is a lot like me - we both have a fair amount of experience and know a considerable amount about music production, but we make different types of music. Conveniently all 4 of us use a DAW called FL Studio to produce music, so it's easy to bounce ideas between each other. The remaining trio, me, Jack and Victor, all have an interest in writing lyrics as well, and we've spoken about collaborating for our FMP a few times, so I think we're going to explore that option.

 

Before starting this course I had no intention of joining a band whatsoever, but our first teacher, Laura, tasked us with joining up with others in the class to form bands. I formed a band with Kieran, who I already knew from last year, Aaron and Sonnet. I was the pianist, Kieran was the drummer, Aaron was the bassist and Sonnet was the singer as well as acoustic guitarist. Unfortunately I have recently left the band as I realised that I could be spending my time doing things like producing, writing lyrics and recording them, which would actually benefit me. I also didn't really like playing the piano in a band. You can read more about this on my other website. Ever since leaving the band I have been fully focused on producing and writing lyrics. This is the perfect situation for me as that's the main thing I want to go into in the music industry.
